A new store in town | Menage a trois Amsterdam

Menage A trois is a new fashion initiative in Amsterdam by AnneMarie Kramer, Bridgitte Kleyn and Vanessa Tersteeg and can be found within the Droog Design building, one of Amsterdam's finest stores to discover Dutch design and grab a coffee or glass of wine in the Droog cafe, or if the weather is nice wander through the Rossana Orlandi-esque garden. When visiting Droog the other day my eye caught the huge black Limited edition ceramic tulip vase by Eduard Hermans at the all new Menage A Trois store in the back of the ground floor.

New collection by Amsterdam based fashion brand AMATØR

I have always loved the name of the fashion brand Eline Starink started up, while working in the business environment, to celebrate individuality and bringing contrast to a world that is dominated by primarily black ensembles. Eline grew up in Norway and the name of her brand AMATØR is dedicated to her little brother Christian who is born with Down Syndrome.

ETQ Amsterdam | Concrete and fashion in an Amsterdam store

ETQ Amsterdam was born under the mindset of eliminating over accessorized branding and focusing primary on letting the quality of the product speak for itself. With three standard rules: elegant, timeless, and quality the brand, that was born as an idea in 2010 as a men's footwear label, now offers an array of clean, sophisticated and affordable products for both men and woman crafted by hand in a small factory in Portugal.

Stylish shoe storage ideas

Last week I showed some beautiful solutions using black accents for your hallway: Inspiration for your hallway | black accents where shoes were hidden in small cabinets. To be honest I have never liked shoe cabinets, most of them are extremely ugly or old fashion. I am not a real shoe collector and actually only have a few pair of sneakers and black boots.

Lumi bags | Finnish accessory brand

One of the great things of the internet is we can get to know brands from all over the world, it is not unusual to fall in love with a bag that's produced on the other side of the world or a bit closer, Finland in this case! Lumi is a Finnish accessory brand, based in Helsinki producing a range of leather accessories.

Lumi means 'snow' in Finnish and it is the color white Lumi sees as the most colourful of colours, representing honesty, functionality, authenticity, precision, innocence, understatement, approachability, sustainability, equality, independence, and new beginnings. The same qualities they aspire towards their design work and producing of leather accessories.

Rick Owens store & Fashion designer Vibe Johansson | #Instalove

Another discovery through my Instagram account, Copenhagen based fashion designer Vibe Johansson designs geometric garments interacting seamlessly with our anatomy, pictured below, and follow Vibe here on Instagram.

I love to follow some fashion brands and fashion bloggers on Instagram, something different from all the interior shots in my daily feed. Some feeds are real eye candy, mostly because they are in beautiful black and white shots.

Paris design week | Visiting Mad et Len

Being a huge Mad et Len fan for some time, visiting their temporary showroom during Paris Designweek was one of the only wishes I had while traveling to Paris last month... looking at the one or two products I can find in Amsterdam and writing a blogpost about Mad et Len with some borrowed product pictures does not even come close to the heaven I found in Paris.

Last week I promised to show you more about the bags shown in my post about Ashes to Snow. Inspired by both Dutch design and Asian culture, ANTS. brings a mixture of practicality and cool aesthetics, with an interesting balance between dark influences and a touch of humour while transcending gender-based and seasonal boundaries in fashion. Unique products produced in limited editions by passionate local craftsmen.

Industrial X「In Visible」by Daijiro Hama

Last month I wrote about Ashes to Snow and when I went to bring some magazines with the article I made about them for the vt wonen love blogs magazine, the store was even whiter then the first time I visited. At the entry a beautiful green bench and some plants blended perfectly with the green gas bottles of the huge iron installation by Marije van Marle. I had to take some Iphone pictures because I couldn't wait to show you the new artworks at the gallery.

Opposites attract | Black & white Summer items

With Summer approaching I often ask myself if I should add a tiny bit of colour, or some prints to my wardrobe, or just stick to my all time favourite black & white. Except for some ripped blue jeans, great with a simple white T-shirt, I have no colours at all in my wardrobe!

That said I was really happy to see the 'Opposites attract' campaign by &Other Stories. 'Keep it simple yet sophisticated with the contrast of classic shades' it said, and I couldn't more happier. Here are some of my favourite black & white items for summer and a little extra with a sparkle... and a great opportunity from Daniel Wellington watches.

Clean-cut and Classy with a sparkle! is also the new 34mm watch I got myself for this summer. My wrists aren't that big and I never loved those really tiny watches and with some others being just to big, this one has the right size and is also sturdy enough for my taste. And to fit my Black & White summer wardrobe the leather strap is black of course!

Shop Daniel Wellington watches with a discount
Until the 15th of July you can choose your favourite Daniel Wellington watch and get a 15% discount on each purchase using the code 'fashionandnail' on Danielwellington.com

I have been shopping for some more Summer items downtown Amsterdam and of course popped in at some of the Scandinavian fashion brands, I really love the clean style of brands like COS, Hope and &Other stories. And if I could afford I would probably buy myself some Rick Owens items too! I just found the pictures below showing the Summer 2016 collection at Palais Tokyo...

Metal boxes & lava stones | Mad et Len home scents

At home I love to burn scented candles and lately I am enjoying the scent of Koto, our new diffuser that looks amazing! But I have another love.... Think metal boxes, candles & lava stones, and the best fragrances you can imagine. Mad et Len is maybe one of the best kept perfume secrets invented by Alexandre Piffaut and Sandra Fuzier.
