DIY for your Home | Concrete lamp

Marion, from origine Dutch, is living in Sweden for years and she is the creative mind behind Basichus.com. Some years ago I already noticed her handmade wooden houses and the postcards she made with them, because she happens to be an excellent photographer as well. Look what she then sent me: here, I still have the card :)

The other day on Instagram the pictue above caught my eye. Beacause I love concrete and found it really original. I wrote Marion what she was gonna do with the base. Today she sent me the picture of it hanging on her wall. She added an old Swedish stables lamp made out of glass and ceramic to it, as she said combining old and new is what she loves most.

A simple home

I love these pictures where you get a sneak peek on the street where a home is situated, a simple home in natural colors... just what I need after a few hectic days filled with making images for the slides I need for my talk at the HIVE blogger conference next weekend.

In a few days I will be off to Berlin and I have not even thought of what to take with me, where to go on my day off and what to wear... although it will be something black and white probably - for a change! I have to work for a few more days and end of the week I will be heading to the airport straight after work... How do you mean busy! Enjoy this home... Want to see more homes follow this hashtag #Homes

Believe in yourself | Poster art

How do you like those posters telling you on how to live your life or this one on how to believe in yourself. Good Fucking design advice |forgive me the swearing| made a whole range of posters, mugs and t shirts with these kind of quotes... No Fucking Sans Serife made me smile.

I personally love the 'this is your life' poster. I saw it in a huge size at FAB when we visited their very cool NYC office during Blogtour. I have it framed and it stands on my industrial kitchen table: Tiles and Tajinis I also wrote the text on my black cupboard... Did you see it on Instagram yesterday? I find it really motivating and love how everytime other words and sentences draw my attention. Do you have a favorite quote or realy motivating poem?

Happy week and don't forget to join the giveaway we have for you this week!

Black Feathers and Fluffiness

When making new pictures I finally managed to clean out my studio. I brought lots of souvenirs and brochures back from the city trips I made these last months. And I really should find another way to order everything. Remember the bags I made: Collecting travel memories | Easy DIY with paper bags They were fun to make but I need something stronger like small boxes. If you came across some cool ideas let me know, I would love to make a new post with your ideas on how to collect travel memories

I also found these shiny black feathers in a box which I bought years ago. Feathers are totally hot as decoration in interiors at the moment and I love how Lola & Kate framed them, they are for sale at Harvest and Company

New design by Stefano Gaggero

Today I love to give you a sneak peek on the new work of friend and designer Stefano Gaggero. You might remember I wrote about his work before: Stefano Gaggero designer and stylist

For the new collection of Geelli he designed several placemets. They were presented on Ambiente 2013 and Baldai 2013 And today you can see them here! They are made out of 'polyurethane gel' A very strong material with a soft feeling. The placemets, being in production, can be find on the Geelli website soon. Here are some of my other favorites.

Inspiration for your home | New ideas with Uashmama Carry Bags

This last weekend was so good! The sun was shining and with a nice breeze blowing through my home I felt so energetic and finally finished some projects. It was great to find time to make some changes and I shoot lots of new pictures.

The good thing was, I got a package from my sponsors Moes & Griet the day before. I thought the Carry Bag would be a great alternative for a plant pot and would fit the natural look I am bringing into the home for Spring. How do you like it?

This is the Carry Bag and I have fallen a bit in love with it! Can you believe it is paper, it looks like leather, is washable as fabric and retains its shape. I love the basic look of it, but most of all I love the natural feeling it adds to my kictchen.

In my studio I am using paper bags for all little office supplies. They are available in several colors, sizes and models. I am using the large black, medium white and small grey bag. The perfect colors for my home!

Moes & Griet are exclusive distributor of the Benelux for UASHMAMA ® products and have a web shop where they sell all bags and other beautiful and stylish products.
